AirPower may Stop Developing and Cancel the Sale Completely

AirPower is Apple’s official wireless charging board released by Apple last fall. This product, which can simultaneously charge iPhone X, AirPods and Apple Watch, was released with iPhone X last year. At the press conference last year, Cook said it will be released in 2018. At the just-concluded Apple 2018 Autumn New Product Launch, AirPower was not mentioned. After the press conference, Apple deleted the text and description of the device on the official website. In other words, if nothing unexpected, Apple may completely cancel the development and release of this device.

In fact, the technical advantages of AirPower are very obvious, and at the same time, it has great difficulty in the actual technology implementation. It is convenient to charge three devices at the same time, but the heat dissipation problem has become a key point that cannot be ignored. After all, for wireless charging products, safety is very important. If the heating problem is not solved well during charging, it will bring hidden dangers to life and property safety.

According to the information disclosed earlier, Apple did not solve the fever problem well, which is the most direct cause of AirPower’s dystocia. What’s more, it is actually a very complicated project to arrange circuits in such a small body. After all, it is also possible to reduce the damage during the wireless charging process to the greatest extent possible, and to avoid the charging speed slow.

The Belkin and mophie wireless chargers released by Apple’s official website are Apple’s only certified two brand devices. After Apple’s launch, the two products that previously sold for nearly $100 have also been reduced in price. The current price is generally below $70. Among them, the products sold by the official website are the Belkin Boost Up Wireless Charging Pad and the mophie wireless charging base, and the special version of the Belkin Boost Up Wireless Charging Pad launched this year is as high as $80.

Belkin and mophie can be considered as third-party wireless chargers that Apple officially licenses, which are similar in terms of charging efficiency and speed. Because it is a third-party device authorized by Apple, Apple has also opened a 7.5W fast charge. If it is the iPhone X and the new iPhone released, the charging speed will increase. But these two wireless chargers are a bit expensive.
