Moving iron earphones: The use of an electromagnet to attack an alternating magnetic field, some of which is suspended in front of an electromagnet. When the signal passes through the electromagnet, the magnetic field of the electromagnet changes, and then the iron piece oscillates. The advantage is long service life and high power. The defect is that the distortion is large and the frequency response is narrow. Often used in previous telephone handsets.

Electrostatic earphone: also known as electrostatic plane diaphragm, which is directly electroplated or printed on a very thin plastic film, placed in a strong electrostatic field, and the signal is cut through the coil. The movement of the diaphragm oscillates. The strength is good linearity, small distortion, light diaphragm quality, high frequency response. Defects are expensive and powerless.

Pneumatic earphones: The air pump and air valve are used to control the airflow, and the air pressure and flow are directly manipulated to make the air oscillate. Sometimes the gas valve is replaced by a high-powered speaker. Such headphones are commonly used on airplanes, which are actually only a gas duct. The advantage is that the electric drive power is high. The defect is large distortion, narrow frequency response and high noise.
